I have a C4 and an 8" rear end in my car and I think the Drive shaft is out of blance because i'm getting signfigent vibration while driving at about 60mph. I was wondering if there was an aluminum drive shaft I could stick into it, or any other suggestions of possibly drive shafts that might fit.

    Thanks for the help.

    Cam,
I'm not aware of any aluminum driveshafts that will just "drop in". Why not just have your current driveshaft balanced?

Also, make sure your wheels are balanced and tires aren't worn. This can cause a hell of a vibration as well.

    Sam :)

Check your U joints. Probably worn out.

The Ford Racing Aluminum Drive shaft for Fox Chassis `(79-93) Mustangs will bolt into a Mavcom after simply removing the Flange on the rear U-joint and replacing it with the correct U-joint.;)

Thanks for the info. I just recently had the Tranny rebuilt so i would think that when the rebuilders built it they would have checked out all the stuff with the ujoints and everything like that. Its just that the shafts probably unbalanced Hopefully anyway. I also have brand new wheels and tires, and it vibrated on both the old tires and the new ones. So I don't think its that either... but thanks for the info.

Make sure the u-joints are properly installed...a freind did that once trying to help me out. I'm using a 5.0L driveshaft in my '71..just changed the front u-joint and it fit perfectly...and they're cheap..

Brute strength or Spicer seem to be the best for performance. :smash:
