would a t5 work with my 73 v8 maverick?

    1973 all original maverick pushing 23000 miles
    im thinking of getting the t5 everyone keeps talking about but everything i read says its a 79-93 transmission so i got to wondering if it would work with my 1973

    yup it works i did that swap and a bunch of other people have done that

    need some info that you cant find just let me know

    just do a search under t5

    to make it work with an older engine it's a bit more tricky but can be done. as mentioned do a search for "T5"

    1966 Mustang, 1972, 73, 73 and 73 Mavericks
    When you get your transmission make sure it will take the power your engine makes. T5s are made for 4 cylinders too - and they are not as strong as the ones used with 5.0s.

    1972 Maverick Grabber - Color: Orange Also, 1976 Ford Maverick 4-door, 1977 Mercury Comet 2-door.

    I see in some of your previous posts that you are new to Mavericks and to auto mechanics. I suggest you take baby steps with this car. Get it running, driving, and stopping first. Then....and only then.....start working on any heavy modifications.

    yes u are correct i am very knew to automotive mechanics but one of my dads friends is helping me with all major motifications just so i dont kill myself or destroy what i am working for lol
