maverick rear

    out of what vehical can i get a 5 lug rear for my 70 maverick? any special yr or vehical? is there anything else ill need with it? changing from a 6cyl to an 8. thanks

    1972 Maverick 2 door.Original V-8 3 spd std shift.Also a 72 one owner Sprint sporting a 351 Windsor
    Easiest way is to get a 5 lug from another maverick/comet.If and when you do get one...Check that the pinion yokes are the same.There were two versions on the 8" in a mav,one is slightly longer than the other...This can cause drive shaft length problems.Simple enough to change over though.Ford Granadas/Mercury Monarchs up to 79 have an axle that will work in a mav also...Good luck!!!

    Getting old an memory lost. 7.5 rear had different shock mounts. Do a search an info should be out there. Not sure which rear you have.

    Up to 1980, not 79. :thumbs2: The 80's are also the best chance of finding a 9" rear under one too.
