I found a deal on a couple of ford 5sp transmisions out of turbo coupes.

Are the input shafts the same

Does anyone know if they are the same as the 5.0 5speeds. likely not the same torque rating but will they bolt up with a swap adapter??? :hmmm:

    Any help would be dandy.

    here is the add

The turbo coupe T5 has a 1st gear that's something rediculous like 3.97. The input shaft is different, requires using a pilot bearing from a diesel truck.

I have one in my car, they are rated for 240 foot pounds of torque and yes first gear is useless....i have 4.11 gears making it even worse, overdrive is not as good....i had a friend make me a bushing for the input shaft (slips on) so i could stay with my v8 roller pilot...pilot for the 4 banger is 0.59 diameter and for the v8 is something like .668...i think. i,ve seen bearings on ebay and they look like regular motor bearings....like a 6203...bearing...250.00 is not that great a deal ....keep looking...good luck

Just stumbled across a good t-5 from a 91 gt for a fair price...350$ with shifter, lakewood fork, and alum bell. Seemed fair to me.

Thanks again for all the help.:thumbs2:

If I had gotten the turbo four t-5 it would have caused more hassle than it would have saved in money I think.
