doesn't this look like too much room to be a 351

    1972 Maverick 2 door.Original V-8 3 spd std shift.Also a 72 one owner Sprint sporting a 351 Windsor
    Those valve covers stand up as opposed to leaning out.Makes it look like more room.(reason I put Boss covers on my Sprint) more room to get a hand in there.
    Thats definitely a 351W though.

    the windsor heads gives the motor more of a vertical tilt along with the slanted valve covers...looks like it could be a 351.

    First thing I would do if I bought it would take the spool out and get a posi....spools makes cars hard to control if you dont know what youre doing

    Very nicely restored car though

    Its definitely a 351W...Note the reinforcing rib on the block next to the distributor...Simplest way to spot a 351W...:yup:

    I've seen that car before, they went to all that work to paint it underneath, and didn't even clean all the crap off.

    Why would you want to put a GM rear end in a Maverick? Why not put in a Ford Traction-Loc or Ford Equa-Loc rear end?

    Looks clean to me, looks like what they couldnt clean is the stuff that had some form of pitting in it.

    Look closer, all that stuff around the lower control arm and sway bar mount is grease and dirt they painted over. Plus with all that pitting in the sway bar, that car must have been pretty rusty, I've had Canadian cars that have cleaned up better. The painted fuel line, and brake lines is being lazy...

    That's why mine is spray bombed black. The grease blends in! Never been a fan of body color undersides unless it is a trailer queen that's never driven. I want it to look good on top and under the hood, the bottom can be dark and dirty because it will get dirty driving anyway.:D
