Factory color?

    1970 Maverick, 66 Fairlane, 89 Mustang LX Convertible
    I'm getting ready to send my 70 Mav off to the body shop for some paint work and I need some info on the factory color of the splash shield that goes between the bumper and radiator support below the grill. It looks like mine is currently painted an argent silver color. I'm not sure if this has been repainted at some point.

    Is this the correct color, or should it be painted body color?

    Any input would be greatly appreciated.

    Mine was also silver but I went with body color. Looks much better IMO.

    I do believe argent was the color from the factory at least in the small bumper era

    Whatever color the grill is......that is what the metal stone guard was painted.
