Anyone using one of these? What if any are the pros and cons of them?I've heard that some hate them because they are loud?

I am running one. Noisy, if you don't mount it correctly. Otherwise, I have had nothing wrong with it.

I ended up actually "hanging" mine from the frame with rubber bushings between the frame and hangers. This was the third mounting of it just to get it lower and quieter.

Bet an exhaust hanger of some sort would do the trick.

Is it essential to mount it as low as possible?

Yes, if you mount it too high, it will start to cavitate when you get down to 1/4 tank or so, and make even more noise, and start making bubbles in the fuel line.

At least mine did. They are pushers, not pullers, and if it tries to pull to much it will just bubble the fuel line.

As far as the hanger, that was more a way to put in those rubber grommets to silence the noise. You can see the rubber on both sides of the hanger near the frame.

Also, even though it looks like the lower double-nutted bolt is touching the frame rail, there is really about 3/8" gap, but camera angle makes it look like it is resting on the frame.

Great! Thanks guys for the feedback.I had a 63 ranchero a couple years back, that had one of the cheapie autozone Mr. Gasket electric pumps(was there when i got it)mounted on the apron by the radiator, and when I would turn the key to run it sounded like a bunch of the little green army men shooting their machine guns.lol When it pressurized,it went somewhat quiet, but you could still hear it,even when the engine was running.(6cyl.)

Yep. They are noisy. I just had one start leaking. I think I've got a kit for rebuilding it in the trailer.:)

Real easy to install. Mount low and near tank, red to hot and ground to frame.

i ran a wire to the starter solenoid and put an inline fuse and run it off a relay. As soon as I hit START on the key, it starts to run.

Blue is up to 14 pounds and needs a regulator.

Red is preset for 7 pounds and no regulator.:)
