    You're moving right along (y)

Now that looks somewhat familier to me. Are you going to tube it back through the firewall to a cage? Otherwise it's liable to fold up on you.

The frame rails are already fully boxed right from the factory. Did you do something additional to them for strength or something? :)

Yes, it's part of the plan to run a bars from the cage to frame. I'm going to get the engine in there first to make sure I don't create any clearance issues with the bars.

They are C chanel frame with a smaller C spot or pinch welded in there to give the appearance of being fully boxed. I guess they kind of are, but I've taken the liberty to fully weld the two pieces together.

If you click on my images and look at my down bars, you'll see that they never get close to anything that will be inside the frame rails so you shouldn't have any clearence issues. (y)

You're probably right, but this 4.6 takes up a lot of realestate.

I keep forgetting, that engine is measured by cubic feet - not cubic inches :rofl2:

This gives you an idea of how wide it is.

Wow that sure makes the 302 look tiny.

Since I know it is gonna be another year at best for I can seriously put money in my car......I am really really really impressed with the new 5.0l coyote engine. The only thing was I wanted to stay carbed which u can do with the current 4.6l dohc with tumble ports heads with a sullivan intake. I see no way to achieve that with new 5.0l What I do like is you can adjust each cam up to 50 degrees(if iirc) I think 25 adv 25 retard to play around and make it idle like an old drag car.....with the electronics....so i may go with the fuelie swap.I imagine you can get 450hp or better just playin with the tune.only weak part is the rods which would scrap my NOS. Sorry to high jack ill prolly get some demerits but what the hell :Handshake

STill undecided........either way guys like us who cut em up and make em right rule!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Also that Coyote engine is variable cam timing which is great its a big part of the reason for its torque curve. I think this engine would be a major chunk of work from a management stand point in our old cars. I just dont see it being a viable option for our cars. The 4.6 and 5.4 are archaic compared to the Coyote.

Give it several years and FRPP will come out with a swap deal to retro fit it into hotrods same as they did with the 4.6 3v. Guys over on Modularfords.com are already trying to figure out a way to swap the coyote engine into a foxbody, they'll figure it out.

If you think that's wide, you should see the DOHC 5.4 sitting next to the DOHC 4.6, that thing is a monster!
