1970 maverick ignition help

trying to find a ignition for my 70 mav but the only ones they have on ebay are for the steering column not on the dash/package tray

will this kit still work

you have a 1969.5 maverick if it has the key in the dash

i pulled the ignition out and it looks like there the same thing

i am going to order them today if no one tells me they won't fit along with the aluminium radiator and some other things

 

if the key or tumblers are bad, a locksmith may be able to fix you up. Not sure what the problem is.

 

you have the...in dash/package tray switch...thoes want work...

got a pic.of the problem..

 

i had no key and it looked like someone stuck a screwdriver in it

so drilled it to get it out the

pic's of the one on e bay look just like mine

my 1973 motorcraft parts book says for a 70 Maverick withOUT locking column the cylinder is # sw-814 starter switch non locking is sw-1054 just reading numbers. What exactly do you need?

 

Not sure they are the same but a couple years ago I went to Autozone and bought a new tumbler set for my 71 F100. It is in the dash also and knowing Ford I bet it is the same. Places like National Parts Depot keep the ignition switch for these old trucks in stock. Might look into that.
Alot of small parts like that will interchange between the F100's LTD's and any other car or truck of the same era

The 69 mustang is the same lock cylinder

I am planning to replace mine too so it is helpful to know for sure what works for the 69.5 dash mount.

 

I have a 69.5, and I got my ignition switch from O'Reilly auto parts, about $16.00.

 

Earl, would you happen to have a part number? I don't have an O'Reillys around here.

I cringe when I think that I wqould have to start from scratch with the guys we have here at Auto Zone or Advance Auto. I say Maverick and they just stare at me.
