I am thinking about mounting it at an angle so the fuel flows back toward the outlets? Or is it already made with an angled bottom?

I want to lose the fuel tank completely so i can finish my trunk, bolt down my battery, etc and drill and weld into the floor without worrying about the fuel tank down there.

Also, It would be nice to not have to work so hard to fill my tank without everything splashing back out at me.

Any hints, suggestions, etc on installing this in my trunk?

mine has a sump in it. i had to cut out the floor for the sump to fit through. im not sure if you can get a fuel cell that comes with a ford sending unit. you might have to replace the sending unit that comes with the cell with one that works with ford. also plan on puting a vent line in. i found that i had to make my vent line go as high as possible to keep fuel from sloshing out when i stoped with a full tank. dont use the foam that comes in the cell. it will brake down and clog up your fuel system.

So, what do I do with the foam?

    Venting is not an issue.

I thought that the main reason for the cell was the foam...

the foam is to try to prevent fuel slosh in turns. gas brakes down the foam over time and it ends up cloging up your fuel system. i dont have the foam in my cell and never have had any problems with fuel slosh. my car is set up for dragracing so it doesnt turn that well. if your car is set up for handleing then you will want a road race cell that has baffels to controle fuel slosh in the turns.

If you haven't ordered it yet just get one with out the foam. You should be able to go either way.

if it does have the foam you just unbolt the fill cap and reach in and pull it out.easy to do if your hands arent huge.

My foam broke down a few years ago. After I got it all out of the cell, I then had to clean all the way back from the carb. Took all the lines apart and blew them out. I only have a 5 gallon cell, but I cut a straight line where the gas fill tube goes down then took a BFH and bent it in the opposite direction. My lines come out and go underneath to the fuel pump. Not sure if this is doable as the trunk is not sealed for a street car. I'm sure there are cells that don't have a sump in them.:)
