Can I use my existing wiring to run an aftermarket gauge hooked up to a fuel cell sending unit, even if it was a GM style unit?

A quick google search found this page. The GM sender runs from 0 ohms empty to 90 ohms full, the Ford runs from 73 ohms empty to 10 ohms full. So for a full tank, the factory Maverick gauge will read "empty" for quite awhile after the actual level drops before it starts tracking (backwards) towards the full mark...

Yeah, I will use the stock wiring, since it already runs from trunk to dash. I will buy an aftermarket gauge, then whatever sender will work with it.
