I have a question and I'm hoping someone can help me out... In 1972 my dad bought a new GRABBER Maverick with one of the rarest paint jobs I've ever seen. His '72 was painted a bright yellow with the light or lime green stripes on it. I'm trying to find pictures of these rare Grabbers and also trying to find out how many '72's were painted that way from the factory.. I have 1 or 2 snapshots of the car when it was new at my mom's house. I've never seen another one like the one my dad had.... Please help.. Thanks in advance!! Guido R.
............... Here's a little more info on the car.. It did have the 302 with an auto trans, bench seat, black interior and the cool dog dish hubcaps and trim rings..
Come on in and join the crowd!!!! Does it look like this? http://mmb.maverick.to/showthread.php?t=59982 CHaz.
Umm.... Sort of..... My dad's was yellow with the light green or lime green stripes. His '72 was brand new when he got it. As I said earlier, it seems it was a one of a kind factory paint job...
Almost forgot!! Thanks for the warm welcome!! I did manage to find 1 picture of what my dad's car looked like.. Wish I could find more!! I found this one on another site. www.fordmaverick.com/articles/72grabber.jpg Sure wish I had that car today... I have a spare HO 5.0L I would have dropped in between the fenderwells.
Thanks Mav!! Now I need to find out how many '72 Grabbers were painted like that.. I was 12 when my dad bought that car from North Bros FORD... Next time I stop at dear ol' mom's house, I'll hit her up for the photos and try and post them. Cheers!
Welcome! There was one like that for sale around here not long ago, wanted $6500 though but it was nice, 302 car, radio, i believe it had a/c too.
6500 is way out of my reach... I'm just about to pay off my '05 Ford drop top.. I have another car in the garage with a 352W roller motor.... Umm.. Both are the 4 wheeled ponies. Cheers!!
