What all is involved in changing over to a 1 wire alternator? What do you do with the left over wires? Cut them off or just tape them up and leave them? Thanks for any input.Oh and a diagrahm would be helpful!

The extra wires will unplug from the regulator or unscrew for the alternator and starter solenoid.

You lose them all. The regulator goes to the trash.

It really cleans up the engine bay a bit. Never regretted it a bit.

Just did this to mine. It's about a 10 minute swap, and you get to throw lots of ugly crap in the trashbin, and wind up with an alternator putting out more amps. Defenitely cleans up the engine bay. Its a win, win....win.

Mine was a little more than 10 minutes, but only because my battery and kill switch are in the trunk and I had to run a couple miles worth of wires...

But never looked back nor regretted it. And mine is a weak 64A $40 jobby. I plan on upgrading soon to at least 100A.
