A couple of days ago a guy offered to trade a really nice '65 Rambler Marlin for my Maverick.... I turned it down... Tell me I did the right thing
I think you're in the right place to get ample support of your decision. I would have turned it down as well. Now had it been a 70 AMX.........
Ya know... The Rambler Marlin may have some historical significance as an ancestor to later fastback style American cars. It was certainly unique at the time and boldly styled for its day. But I'm sorry to say - it's a butt-ugly car. You did the right thing.
Here it is guys. 327, a/c, DB, Posi. I have always wanted one of these....and boy does it drive great..
Mavericks are easy to come by, the Marlin is not. I wouldnt trade my Sprint for it, but I'd trade any other Maverick I have .
...or better yet...any Comet... then he would have all the parts to build his own Maverick...:Handshake why not ask the same question on a...'65 Rambler Marlin...message board?
You did the right thing. Marlins made be hard to come by, but your Maverick looks way better IMO, if it didnt would he be wanting to trade???
Bob, That Marlin is a highly unique car ... seems like more often than not that is the politically-correct way of saying ugly. Keep your Grabber. I think it has a lot more appeal. The Marlin is a neat car .... as long as somebody else owns it ...
Id have gone with the Marlin Bob. It's a unique car and I think you would thoroughly enjoy being a member of such an elite group. You could probably be the next announcer at the Marlin drag races. I heard they are going to race 4 wide at Z-max. Only problem is that they have to find 4 of them.
A two tone Marlin with a V-8 is cool but a grabber blue Grabber Mav is way cooler. You made the right choice Bob.
