i know there was just a thread about this.....my dash lights quit working. 1st i replaced fuses and nothin, sooooo..... i want to know if it could be the headlight switch. about a month back i got in the car & pulled the nob for lights and my headlights didn't turn on. pushed it in and out a couple of times and they popped right on and have been working ever since. this sure makes me wonder if it has something to do with no dash lights. also, are there your typical bulbs in behind the cluster?:hmmm: guess i should check those first? any help would be great.

I wud ck the lights first. I had the same problem some where my bulbs (type#194) were burnt-out. You have to pull the cluster. There is a tech article on the forum on pulling the cluster. I have auto flr shift C4, so did'nt have lower the steer column. If u replace the bulbs do urself a favor and remove the speedo cable it will make the job a lot easier. I was not able to get my cluster out until someone on the forum told me to remove the speedo cable. Be real careful w/ the copper strips that connect the bulbs - mine had a lot of buildup. I clean "brighten" them up w/ fine steelwool. I have them all working now.
    Hope this helps.

thanks for the reply mojo. the gas gauge side has gone out before and i tap on it and it turns back on, but the speedo side has never gone out before. maybe i just have some serious corrosion on the copper strips and/or burnt bulbs. speedo won't be a problem for me because the retainer clip is broken and i just stuck it back in and has stayed that way for a month. lol i also have floor shifter to so that will help too. thanks again:Handshake

I'd like to thank you both as well. I just came in from my first night drive with the mav and found out that neither of my dash lights work so I'm going to be doing that this weekend. Very helpful!!! Thank you again.:thumbs2:

You guys do realize, there is a dimmer, on the headlight switch for the dash lights..just spin the knob and see if that helps.
