Need help on compression test

    The engine is missing . Pulled plugs #3 is wet the others are running real lean so I pull plugs do compression test #1 125 #2 123 #3 127 #4 127 #5 130 #6 130 #7 132 #8 115 so I check plug & wire on my pickup and both are firing so why the miss.:huh:HELP PHIL

    Compression test looks ok. What kind of plug wire and how old are they? If they're carbon core they could have high resistance or if they're old you could have crossfire issues. Or maybe the coil is getting weak. Still running points? Short dwell time can cause a weak spark. A lot of things to check.

    The spark plug wires were new last summer... sat all winter, so maybe they ran 5 months. I am running Ford duraspark ignition. Any help is appreciated.

    Ok I think I may have it fixed... if this works I will post more of what a dumb a$$ I am.... need to see if it is going to run. Phil

    Sorry for the delay in answering this... work has been really busy, we had computer issues and I am finally just getting here. Again, Sorry...
    The problem was that I had #1 and #2 spark plug wires crossed and it was missing on #3.... we had checked and checked the firing order and just missed it I guess. But she is running Good now... Thanks for your intrest, And yeah I guess everyone has a dummy moment now and then. Phil
