YEEEEUCK sorry just my opinion poor poor quality cars! Also what idiot would jack up a front driver ( on that Charger? ) I had an 83 turismo ( its the same car guys just not a turbo) bought new had a cracked head the day I took it home.. I'll not go down the list of thingsd that where wrong wiht that car. Sorry might be a fun car to wip until something breaks// and it will. just my opinion, I do remember all the movie theaters having adds for those "Doge Daytona Turbo Z's" nice adds , but ahem, notice they didn't stay in production.. theres a good reason . Yeah DONT feel guilty for That trade,, but really think hard why they would trade a car for rims.. they Know what they have.. LOL

Not a bad looking car. You should be able to get the biggest part of that dent out of the fender if you take it off and work on it slowly.

What a shame, those cars will be worth a lot of money some day.

As far as the chargers go they ran from '84 to '87, in 1987 sales dropped off so much that Carroll Shelby bought the last 1000 Chargers, beefed them up more, and released them as a limited edition numbered "Shelby GLHS", to supercede the Shelby GLH which was based on the Omni body style.

They were offered in...I think 5 different color combinations, and each one was only produced at a count of 3000, meaning only 15000 were produced per year for 4 years...the Shelby GLH and GLHS were only offered in black.

The Shelby Omni GLH(meaning "Goes Like Hell") and Shelby Charger GLHS(meaning "Goes Like Hell Sommore"...really!) is actually one of the only Mopar cars actually built by specifications set forth by Carroll, the others (Shelby Charger, Shelby Daytona, etc.) was just branded with Shelbys name per licensing deals, Carroll actually had no part in designing these cars.

The Daytona Shelby had a inter-cooled Turbo II engine, and the stock transaxle was replaced with an A555 transaxle with beefier gears, normal Daytonas were not offered either(regular Daytonas could get the Turbo I engine), in 1990 the Turbo II engine was replaced with a Turbo IV but had issues that ultimately led to the pulling of Shelby licensing from the Daytonas.

The '89 Daytonas were offered with the 2.2 or the 2.5, hopefully you have the Garrett turbo too, which is better then the Mitsubishi turbo they used alongside the Garrett, it should have an A555 transaxle unless its been replaced with an older one.

If you do get the car, heres a forum just for them:

I say paint it black and put some 235 or 245s up front with the biggest meats that'll fit out back.
