what car alarm are you using i am thinking about geting this one MODEL: Mundial-SST K-9 Mundial-SST http://sacramento.craigslist.org/pts/1714710694.html
The old trusty phone call from the garage I keep it in. Come to think of it, the only phone call I ever got from the garage was last year. They complained that my car was too dusty and they'd appreciate it if I came and cleaned it. This was during the winter and there were way dirtier cars in there. ehhh, maybe they like my car more than those others.
Here's a good alternative: http://www.d-series.org/forums/diy-forum/67764-diy-nextel-gps-locator.html

All i have is a Poodle that is scared of hhis own shadow! of corse mine dosn,t run right know so good luck stealing it!:bananaman
having lived in the bad part of town for a long time, i came to the conclusion that alarms just get you to the broken glass and dented window frame sooner if at all (the good thieves just disable it first). and annoying everyone else because none of them look out the window to see why an alarm is going off anyway. The camera is a better bet, do you have it being recorded? wont necesarily prevent theft but it helps catch the punks in the act. plus you can post at the gate that "you have surveillance and use deadly force" to deter them. as for who would steal a mav, same question my wife asked about my ugly primer spotted high boy with an 11 foot cabover camper on it. then we came out to the parking lot filled with nice vehicles to find the camper and truck missing. got it back 3 days later. i still suspect someone on their way to the stupid burning man festival did it since it was in reno.... nonetheless, if it can be stolen it most likely will.
No alarm but Ace thinks he's an oversized attack doberman and will bark if an ant farts outside. He hears everything. before anyone says he's fat. He is actually a Minterpin that is just very well fed. 30 lbs of solid Maverick Alarm Muscle This is his Camo suit, people will think he's "packin" for sure lol
Dang someone beat me to it, this is Ben my toy poodle, 9 lbs. of love and he doesn't like to hear a car idling outside.
After two steering columns(one was my fault) but one wasn't (alarm did no good) i usually just leave my keys in the switch and depend on a driveway cam(comes on with motion and cuts off after one min of stillness) less than a hundred bucks and at least maybe the bad guys get caught.
I used to leave the keys in my Jeep CJ5 with or without the hardtop. Oops! I forgot to mention I got sick of them breaking in to my Jeep soft top hard top it didnt stop them. I got tired of replacing stereos and speakers and stuff, I asked the cops I what if my freinds and I waited hidden in an other car? They told me you can use enough force to detain them adding and it is slippery out there. It was winter at the time.
