chrome or paint?

does a chrome pan have a better chance of leaking oil.

 

Sand the gasket surface and use a very thin film of RTV, it won't leak.

Not if you buy a good one. Cheap aftermarket pans are prone to leaks chrome or not. Poor stampings and thin metal.

 

You know????? that's what i really needed to know! thank you. i almost got onr on e-bay. it was used with out a mfg name on it. as luck would have it- i was outbidded in the last few seconds. thank again

 

I got a cheap chrome pan from ebay,did just like Jamie said and it hasnt leaked in the 2200 miles my car has driven since...
