There are two different grabber greens and they both look very different. One is a metallic, the other non-metallic. I'll look...I know I have pics of both.
Here ya go...the first is the non-metallic one. The second pic is not a real good one but it is a pic of one of my cars from around 1978. It is 71 grabber green.
thanks. i pulled the carpet out of mine and under it was still green. for some reason i was thinking grabber green was alot lighter shade then what it is.
The color of the first one is the same as the 1970 type NW torino that I bought new in 70. Great color. If I were to repaint my mav, that is the color I would chose. The torino had the black hood and side graphics with rally wheels. I think that color was also used on some 70 mustangs also.
You might have this color ... code number 4P on the tag. Light Metallic Green is the name IIRC. I chose this picture because the green tends to look a bit washed-out in the sunlight in most pics. Looks pretty accurate in this one.
I think the Grabber color (by name) was Grabber lime...like Brainsboys Comet GT. The darker color was Competition green and the light color was Light green met. I'm sure they changed year to year. Personally I love green...my fav is the green on the 68 Mustang from Bullitt. Highland green I think??
Here's a color chart from 1970 and 1971. The colors aren't real true to life but you can see the names of the colors. Both years of Grabber Green have the same code Z...two very different colors. 1970 http://www.tcpglobal.com/aclchip.aspx?image=1970-ford-pg01.jpg 1971 http://www.tcpglobal.com/aclchip.aspx?image=1971-ford-pg01.jpg
I was thinking about 71-72 colors. The 70 color is a nice shade. ^^ I was looking at my color on those paint charts listed above....first times I've ever seen it called Diamond blue. Always just heard it called Pastel blue.
