A guy in town here is selling a 76 Mav, Factory Orange (very little rust from the pictures I see) Auto 302 w/55k OG miles. $2000.00

    I want. So bad.

What do you guys do when you see a see a jewel like this that you can't afford right away? I weep softly into my pillow, take baths and eat a tub of Ben and Jerry's Chunky Munky icecream.

I'm tempted to sell my car to get it, but that will require getting new summer tires, installing the new headlamp switch, and probably getting the transmission redone before I could think about, basically putting me back a pretty penny.

That is why I try not to look at cars that are for sale... I would hate to find something that I really want.

looks nice but I am wondering if it is a bad camera angle or if someone did some "not so good" body repair on that rear quarter panel just above the rear tire.

The opening of the passenger side rear wheel well opening looks to be an ODD SHAPE

My Grandfather had a Camper like that years ago and tried carrying it on a 1968, F-100. He beefed up the rear suspension and carried that camper around for a little while. Then he started noticing that the overhang over the cab was resting on the roof of the truck. It actually had bent the frame of the truck..LOL

the next truck he bought to carry that Camper was a 1975 F350, Ranger XLT, Super Camper Special. Although Maryland would only allow him to register it as a 1 ton truck IT was actually 1 and 1/2 ton Pickup truck. Truck is still in My Grandmother's Driveway today.

Looks like a lot of running rust from the rocker trim and side trim. They are bad about rusting, and a bear to fix. Wheel well does look a bit odd. Wonder what the other side looks like?

So with what you see, what would you offer the guy?
    $1200.00?

Look at the back bumper, it's hanging way low. I'd bet she's pretty rusty, probably not worth buying, unless it's for parts.

Dang, I didn't notice that! That bumper is a good two inches too low! I'd bet the rear frame is rusted slap away!

And it looks like the right front fender is rusted through from the top! Speedo cluster has been changed out, too.

I'm thinkin that shiny paint is hiding lots of problems.....

Very obvious that the car is a bondo job. I would pass on that car unless you want it for parts.

All things considering, I could see why you'd want to sell your Comet, to buy a Maverick.:rofl2:
