73 Carb vacuum question

    I am changing from a 2bbl to a 4bbl My old carb has a plate under the carb, above the manifold that deals with some vacuum issues (I suspect).

    Do the 73 4 bbls have such a device? whatcha call it, so I know what to ask for?

    Probably... It has a smallish (3" in dia) spaceship shapped device bolted to it, (in the back) and it is hooked to various vacuum lines.

    Do the 4bbl have it? I think I should add it to my new 4v manifild/carb arrangement.

    You need a 4V intake to go with it ...

    Yeah, I got the 4v carb and intake. I am trying to ;


    a. Keep the car original looking, and
    b. Trying not to revamp too much stuff.

    Make sure before you put the intake on your car that you have the egr passages all cleaned out real good.
