Yes, we got some really nice coverage for our cars. Mavericks & Comets are definitely getting their share of attention here lately and I love it. :bananaman

The same issue they do a T5 swap into a guy's Mustang. Said they wanted to perform the conversion "at a price he could afford". They spent over $3300 and that was with a used T5! They paid $800 for the used trans, you can buy a new one for $999. Baffles me why they just didn't get an adaptor plate and keep the old bellhousing, clutch, flywheel, clutch linkage, etc., if he's on a budget. Could of done the whole swap for $2000 less.

haven't seen article yet but guessing they used some pieces from a company hawking their wares. kind of like asking what's a cheap way to get more power from a 5.0 and you get told to buy performer RPM everything. like that's cheap!

What a rip off. I'm in the process of doing this to my '63 Ranchero with a 6 banger. I paid $150 for the trans.(88 Mustang GT) normal price at a local swap meet here has been under $400., $50. for the mount, 8 1/2 inch Mustang 4 cyl clutch $50. and a rebuilt stock pressure plate $35.and a new T/O bearing $20. $100 for the adapter plate. $20 to machine the bellhousing and I'm ready to install it. Still need a shifter and boot. I'm in it now for less then $500.

Just picked up the August issue tonight. I have seen that 71 GT at several local shows here in North GA. I have spoken to the owner and if I remember correctly he is the original owner. He had it repainted at a local Ford dealer because I was questioning him on how he mixed the flat black on his rear panel. The thing that stood out to me when the car is seen in person is how absolutely perfect his upholstery is ... I beleive it is comfortweave ...
