Back for the MCG GATHERING in Joplin, MO. and what a great time we had. The show was awesome, thanks to everyone that helped make it such a success. Hanging out with friends is without a doubt the best part of the week. These old mavericks and comets brought us together, but its the friendships that are formed that keeps us (me) coming back. Its true what was said "its not a car meet, its a family reunion" Really looking forward to 2011!!!!
Here are some pictures! Yes, I sure had a great time at the Gathering! An awesome bunch of people, twenty Mavericks and one Comet! Thanks to all who made it it happen! I posted these Gathering pictures in the wrong place, but here they are:http://mmb.maverick.to/showthread.php?p=707031&posted=1#post707031
A great reunion, as well as meeting some new (to me) folks like Doug and Greg. A first time event for my dad and he was really impressed by the friendliness of the entire group. Thanks to everyone for the great time had by me and my family. Seeing the next generation Sellers and Phillips take the wheel of their Mavericks was really cool too.
Great times and great people! The expression on my sons face when I handed him the keys was priceless!
yes it was....watching ELROY (Page) pull in the parking lot Friday morning was too cool.....then sitting at McDonalds with the Graham's (there 2 grand daughters) and my youngest son as we saw Thomas behind the wheel was very cool!!!
It was fun taking both of kids for a pass down the dragstrip. Jeff said he could see Chloe's teeth grinning from the grandstands! Of course, in typical kid fashion, they agrued with each other about whose ride was faster.
I didn't see a ticket line for rides or I woulda bought some. Guaranteed slower times with my big gut
Yes what a great time, and I think we had 23 cars at the show but that was counting the local guy who didnt register ( jimmy), we cant wait till 2011, Page is already counting the days and is planning on driving to wherever it is, I got to hang out with Doug Bauer on sunday and had a great time, thanks everyone.
Todd you would not believe the fun and fellowship I have with this group! It truly is a family, no drama, no issues........well, maybe its not like a family but you know what I mean
Well, Jeff might have had a quiet Sunday afternoon until I called with a shiftless Maverick. He came to the rescue 5 miles out of Carthage with 3 quarts of tranny fluid and a universal tool to fix my leak. My crank pulley almost cut off my hard line---what a mess! All in all we had fun anyway. He also showed me a place where I could still get fill up with leaded fuel! Thanks so much, again, Jeff! :Handshake
Yep...and we are going out to dinner with them this evening... ...our last night in Joplin... 2 more of those great breakfast bars... we'll be at the Roundup tomorrow... ...Frank and Effie W/O Patches... ...a rollercoaster of emotions for sure...
