I have a set of the infamous Dan Starnes SubFrame Connectors. I'm thinking about asking my exhaust guy to weld them in while he's running the pipes. What is the proper way to install connectors? Should the car be resting on all 4 tires in a normal stance or should it be jacked up on all four corners with the tires hanging?

Dan; When I had mine installed, we leveled the car, wheels on the ground, and ground the bars to get a flat fit on the frame rails. If you can get a tram bar, for side to side and across the frame level, that is best. To level the car, use shims under the tires or use a jack on the jacking points. Mine rides very well, and the car handles much better than without the bars. They are Starnes' originals also. Take care,

Dan, the guys have given you proper info. The car needs to be wheels on the ground. Or if not possible that way, at least on jack stands or other helpful items like that. What i did was put the front wheels on ramps and I put jackstands under the rear end. Made sure it was level as possible and welded them in. If you muffler man has a lift where the entire car sits on it via the tires, then it is a can do.

Al, I used to make them. Said I would not be making anymore, but I do have 3 people that want them now. If I get 10 people that want them, then I can rent the bender and make them up.

I Know steel prices have gone nuts. Sold them last time for $100.00 to your door in the USA. Canada is more. Would expect to increase price to $110.00 if I have to.
