Kinda long but here's a video of my friend and me getting the rebuilt 302 HO going for the first time. 1986 flat pistons, E7 heads, Edelbrock Performer intake, Holley 600, Doug Thorley shorties (open as of now), HEI distributor, Ford Motorsport plug wires.

Had a problem with a bad, new fuel pump which was replaced. The Sprint now moves under its own power for the first time in 21 years.

Thanks for all the comments. Yep, its FUN to hear it RUN!! No glass in it so can't take it out for a test run yet. Gotta get the headliner in before the glass. But, at least it moves in and out of the shop under its own power.

I have to keep starting it to break in the headers. :rofl2:

You don't need glass! :) Somewhere I have a burnout video in the Grabber before I put the glass in...

Edit: Ok, so I did put the 1/4 windows in already so they would be out of the way, but that's the only glass in it! :D

And congrats too! I know the feeling, and it is awesome.

Many months. Currently working on wheels and dash. Wish I could get the used American Racing Outlaws looking decent but I've just about given up. I obviously need to learn some things about polishing. So, I'me doing the electrolysis rust removal on the stock steel wheels and will rust bullet and paint them. Have some nice dog dishes and trim rings but would really prefer alum wheels.

I had previously painted the top of the steel dash and dash pad but wasn't satisified with either. Pulled the dash out, stripped and primered it and will paint the whole thing and re-spray the dash pad this weekend.

Still have the entire interior to re-do and reassemble everything on the body. And a couple of expensive items -- exhaust and seat covers -- that have to be spaced out in time.

Would like to drive it this year but, we'll see.

Again, thanks for all the nice comments. They help keep the energy level up. Loved the video of the glassless Mav tearing up the road. :yahoo: That's twice I've been offered goggles but I think I'll wait. :naughty:

Glad to hear the Sprint is moving under it's own power again. You will have to pull it out and take some pictures of your body work and paint. Looks great from what I could tell. Congrats.

You have a long list, but it sounds like you are doing it right. I deviated from my plan to get everything done and the car painted before I put it on the road.. mainly due to a certain thorn in my side. ;)

And I wasn't wearing any goggles in that video, because I wear glasses (which did NOT help keep the wind out of my eyes). Goggles would have made it a lot easier to see over 20mph. :biglaugh:
