If you're tired of waiting for 10 light changes to get by 13/Woodward with 60% daily drivers clogging the lanes with the A/C cranked up while you sweat.. I drove out to Woodward on Sat the 14th; 8pm Royal Oak Police were working both sides, lights on, if you were sitting infront of a dark storefront you were ordered to move. The parking lot at 13 MI was unlit with police cars at the entrances. The fast food and small stores that were open were slammed; "the Shell" was worse than I have ever seen it. They just don't want us there anymore than they did in the sixties. For a refreshing change come up to Flint for Back to the Bricks. The business owners actually want you there to spend money. Yes they are tightening up on tires, etc this year because it got a bit out of hand last year but it moves much better. The have a well organized schedule, drive in movies this week and cruises, the usual celebrites like the American Grafitti stars and even rolled out Linda Vaughn. It all culminates in parking on the old brick pavement downtown, crowded, but people come and go. You might like it. http://www.backtothebricks.org/
I've never heard of Back to the Bricks. Thanks for posting, although I still have to say that the Woodward Dream Cruise is very cool. But it is a pain in the butt to get around.
I'm going Thurs, if anybody is going to be out there let me know when and where and maybe we can meet up for a burger. Rick
Rick; I'll be in Taylor on Thursday, and then all over on Friday. Sat, I'll be at the Dream Cruise with a friend. You going to the cruise?
Earl I went to the cruise back in the 90's and you couldn't move then, but no all I can get away this week is Thurs so it's just to the Bricks cruise. If anybody thinks they might find themself on Saginaw St on Thurs give me a shout and I give you my cell phone #. Rick
