Ok, i searched the archives. I dont want to start an AOD vs. other trans discussion. I just want to know how to get an AOD in my 70 with a narrow tunnel. And if i do eventually get it in there, how do i do that tv cable or w/e its called? I really want to have the overdrive, my car isnt very powerful, it wont break the aod because i dont really get on it too much. I just want the overdrive to help the gas and allow me to run better than 2.79 gears in my mav and not destroy my gas mileage.

    Scott,
you will have to enlarge the tunnel if you want the AOD in your car. You can cut or pound but the end result will be a larger tunnel and remade supports. The exhaust will have to be widened to go around the larger bellhousing.

I think Lokar makes a tv cable. You could also use a cable from a 88-91ish crown vic. It is important that the tv pressure is correct or the tranny wont last long. This place has some good info on AOD's. http://www.baumannengineering.com/index.htm The newer the AOD the better they are. 91 was the last year in the crown vic and 93 was the last year in the mustang. 94-95 mustangs might of had the AOD but I think they were AODE's. They arn't as week as everyone thinks they are.
