My Maverick has the plain grille with the center emblem and no lights. I wanted to change over to the grille with the lights in the grille.

Where the grille lights used as fog lamps? I was looking at pictures in the gallery and the cars had both so I assume the grille lights were fog lights and the ones in the front valence were turn signals.

If I change grilles can I just plug my turn signal bulgs in the grille lights and use them for turn signals and eliminate the ones in the valence?

Yes, the later big bumper cars were set up like that. I'm not sure if the plug is the same but that's not a big deal if you need to modify it.

If you want to keep the lower lights, just splice into the wires and run a new wire down to them. That's what I did on my 74 when I changed it over to the small bumper. Grill lights=park and turn signals-----valance lights=park lights only on mine. You could wire both as park and ts also....
