Just found the site! I don't yet own a Maverick but I have my eye on a potential "project" down the road from my house. It's been sitting for several years and I plan to drop by and ask the owner if he/she is willing to part with it for a reasonable price if I tow it away. I have been lurking here to get an idea of what I was getting myself into before I take it on. For right now I'm just a wannabe! Anyway, this site is a great resource and a thriving community so it has been really interesting to see what is going on here even if I don't end up with the car I have in mind. Lots of great cars and nice people! Dan from Tennessee
Fortunately for you and if you have the finances there's no better time to buy a moderate classic car. Moderate meaning the lesser appreciated; Gremlin's, Pacer's, Comet's, Maverick's, Falcons and some Nova's. If I've missed a few other sorry guy's.
Welcome aboard Dan! I'm heading up your way this weekend to steal one of your Tennessee mavericks and bring back down to the Gulf Coast! Hope it's not mine you got your eyes on.
Thanks, everyone. That is good news. I think Mavericks and the others that you mention are a lot more interesting than the usual Mustangs, Camaros, etc. My biggest problem right now is having a place to work on/store the Maverick. Ray, I hope it isn't mine that you have your eye on!!! But if it is, at least it will be getting a good home! I am in East TN so hopefully yours is out West somewhere!
Hey! If you grew up in Sweetwater then you probably know my car! My Mother lived in Madisonville at the time she bought my car! You might know some of my kin folk!
