Hello to al enthusiastic Maverick fans and owners. I have a 1976 Ford Maverick, need to remove the front dashboard and acess the VIN number to be cleaned (currently ilegible). Any ideas of how to access to it?, need to disasemble the whole dashboard?, How? I also have many Maverick parts available, (AM radios, tail lights, front light assembly, cromes, gas tank, instrument panel, some front suspension parts, etc. Need something?, let me know I can ship to US and Mexico. Regards Elfego
No need to, the VIN is Also on the door tag decal. Thats to get the actual number. If you just want to clean the VIN plate you have to remove the windshield to take out the Dash, there some screws where you cant fit a screwdriver in dude to the windshield. Or if you dont want to remove the windshield you can try a drill bit and a 1/4 box wrench to remove the screws, i hear that works also.
I had the same problem.. I removed the speedo and worked my arm through the dash.. The vin in my 70 mav has a tag that can be completely remove by sliding it up..... hope that helped
I was able to clean my vin# with a toothbrush. Use some windex on it and scrub away! Worked great on mine!
Hello all. I just cleaned my VIN number as simpleman suggested, it worked perfectly. However removing the instrument panel allowed me to give some maintenance to winshields and, A/C mecanism, etc. THANKS to all of you !!!!! Elfego
