When my wife and I first moved to Colorado and settled here in this little town in the back yard two houses over sat this pretty clean Comet. About a year later it was covered up with a brand new canvas. It belongs to my neighbor ladies brother and he seems to think that someday it is going to be priceless and I can not make him understand that he will never retire off of it and if it sets there much longer it will cost him to have what is left removed.
PARTS CAR!!!!!! Looks like he could have been a little more gentle in putting that cement block on the roof.
took a couple looks befor I noticed the engine on the ground in the first pic. Might be a few good parts left, to convince somebody to take it away. People are stupid.
I hate it when you ask someone about a sitting car and they say there going to restore it someday. While it is possible, most just sit until they're too far gone.
down in corbin ky. saw an old maverick grabber think it was a 72' sitting in a field. checked it out, good parts on it but you could see through the car just about everywhere. asked owner if he would sell it. "Nope, had that car since it was new and I'll fix her up one day." ---he must have loved it, cause i couldnt have done nothing with it but use the trim and glass. everything else was rusted out, but he wouldn't sell and I'm sure if he would have priced it to me it wouldn't have been low.
The body is not as bad as it looks in the pic, the glass is all good and I don't care about he under carraige because I have an Alston 2x3 120 tube chassis with 10 point cage, Art Morrison TA front suspension with 5 lug and coil overs and A M rear coilover ladder bar suspension that I never used just sitting in the garage that needs to be welded together and used along with 5x 15 front and 15x15 super ultra lites. 6 point harness's and more but I need some tin, Maverick or Comet I'm on the prowl. If the town continues to push everyone to clean up their yards I might have a chance to put it in the garage.
