Is there anyone out there who does alternator restoration, to concurs results? I have an original, but it needs a cosmatic redo. Charles
Take it all the way apart and sandblast it or put it through the parts washer at your machinist. Then bring what's left to the local rebuilder and tell them you want to use this case and not to get it dirty.
The problem with buying a 'ready to go' one,, is that the 'ready to go' units generally are not Autolite, and do not have the Autolite logo on the case, albiet hidden. I have the original, and wanted to have the correct case, if at all possible. Someone rebuilds these things, puts the ink stamp on them, and I was hoping to locate that company.
