valve comer smoking

hi, my 71 maverick is smoking from one on the valve covers. it smokes from inside and the smoke comes out of the breather. its a 302 v8 engine.

 

Is your PCV in working condition?

 

to be honest i dont have a pcv valve. i have 2 breathers. do you think i should put a pcv instead of one of the breathers?

 

Depends on your engine build. If its stock/mild then you should. Your probably getting blow by out of one of the breathers. By using a pcv itll recycle them back into the motor.
