Was thinking about getting an RRS steering rack for my Mav but heard they no longer have a US supplier. Has anyone added a rack to their Mav, if so what did you use?
there are a lot of..."I Heard"...steering racks out there...but only a few that work... Rod and Custom here... RC-107...Rod & Custom Motorsports ~ Florence, SC
I heard alot also. But for some reason pics never show up. For the price of the RSS one id do a R&C swap like Frank posted.
The Hahn brothers modified a Falcon R&P kit to work on their Mavericks. I believe they came from Total Control Products.
I just went and looked at the suspension tech article i wrote but the part number is not on there. I could have swore it was TCP but i guess not. Sorry guys.
Well stay away from RRS I bought a complete setup from them for my 64 T-bolt clone customer service is horrible maybe that's why there not in the US anymore.
Just installed AJE on mine. It looks great. Can't tell you how it drives because I don't have the motor back in yet. Should be very soon though.
I have a power RRS rack on my '72. I bought it back at the end of 2008 directly from their website, and they shipped it from Austrailia. I did have one problem...they forgot to ship the lower steering column bearing. I had to wait awhile to have them ship one out to me from Down Under, but I eventually got it and the install went rather smoothly. The only issue I've had is that I got the angle of the u-joint from the column to the rack wrong and there is an ever so small amount of binding, so I need to take it apart and fix it at some point. That's my fault though...other than that I've been happy with it. Mark
