Ok..I've been busy for a while, the school is killing me =D, I've finally uploaded a video of the car, this is a Ford Maverick 1971...289! and took some photos too... The car is in great shape, but now the carburetor isn't working properly, the original carburetor was stolen on the workshop and someone put it on a mustang (someone= the mechanic was fired), but now thanks to that the car consumes more gas, but has less power...i was thinkin on buyin a new one, I dont know what brand to choose...edelbrock, holley? or a rebuild one...anyway, enjoy the pics and the video =D have a great day! Pd. i've started to use sony vegas...I was tryin to erase the plates...lol! =D
Didn't even catch the fact that the person posting is from Mexico. That would explain it. To be honest when I seen the Falcon badges, the first thing I thought was Brazil and I checked and the car pictured has the marking lights so I knew it wasn't a Brazilian car. Mexican Maverick didn't even cross the thought process
Sounds good, does it have Flowmasters? It sounds a bit lazy when you hit the throttle, I would check the timing and the hose for the vacuum advance. If it's hooked up to the wrong port (manifold vacuum) your timing will retard when you step on the throttle. That equals less power and milage, ask me how I know this!
Kink the vacuum line going to the distributor and see if the idle drops, if it does it may be hooked to the wrong port on the carb. I kind of doubt that's the issue but you never know. The car I did it to was a total slug and would barely run off idle (in my youth learning the hard way).
