Newbie here as well. Just picked up a 73 with 42000 original miles, unfortunately it's a four door :(. Will make a nice little car for my oldest daughter though. It's a 8 cyl model with factory air, so she'll think it's cool, lol. Any input on being an owner and where to find parts will be appreciated. Thanks.

    :Welcome: from Northeast Pennsylvania

Years ago a 4 door was viewed as Mom's grocery getter. These days, a lot of credit goes to the Tuner crowd for making these 4 doors a more popular item these days.

I've seen 4 doors with the handles removed and door poppers installed looking real good at car shows. Without the door handles, it becomes a little harder to notice the back 2 doors. :thumbs2:

Welcome to the forum! You can get a lot of used parts from other members. For new stuff, you can try Auto Krafters or even your local parts store. And depending on the part, you can sometimes use classic Mustang parts.

When in doubt, use the search button in the forum or just ask. :yup:

Should have a reliable car if you change the oil and fluids and keep that carb clean. LOTS of miles left on that 302!!!

Thanks for the responses guys. My wife really liked the car when she saw it but after seeing the two door body style, decided she liked the two door more and questioned whether we should invest anything into the four door. I pointed out to her the same thing that was mentioned earlier, that four door body styles used to be taboo, but pointed out that now, you've got many sporty cars that only come in four door body styles. Additionally, after looking at some of the photos on the site, she has a renewed confidence in our prospect. We have literally nothing invested in this car, it was given to us by an old aunt of hers and it's in great shape. It's not been on the road since 98 so no telling what lurks behind the scenes, but the price was still right so anything I have to do to it will be easy to swallow. She's fallen in love with the simple but elegant interior of it, which is in perfect condition so we'll keep it the mint green color and select an exterior paint scheme that will compliment it. Thanks for all the encouraging words and I look forward to keeping you all updated on our progress.

See some local Georgia boys on here as well, hello from Valdosta.

Lots of us from Georgia and around meet a few times a year, next July come the Summit All Ford Show at Summit in McDonough Ga. there are usually quite a few of us there. You will love the 4 door and all the friends you will make because of it. This is just 1 row at 2009 show we had 11 or 12 Mavericks and Comet there.
