Tomorrow mike75mav and I will be teaming up to go to a wrecking yard in Poulsbo to pick up a pair of seats for my 73 Maverick! Maybe something else, if it catches our eyes!

I'm pretty stoked! This is going to be a big week for parts gathering for me. Seats tomorrow, an engine on Sunday, and hopefully a rear spoiler this weekend too!

I also have to get a new clutch (etc) put into the car, and then it will be drivable. YES! I've got quotes all being around $500-$600 for parts and labor. But if someone knows how to do this job and is willing to take the time and help me install a new clutch (etc) and get it adjusted, that would be great too! If you got the time, send me a pm.

I do have another question for anyone near by ... I called some places around here about getting a C4 automatic with a floor shifter put into the car (so that my wife can drive it too). One place quoted me "about $1,500 for parts and labor". It sounds like a good price, but with like the above paragraph ... I would love to learn how to do it myself if someone has the time and patience to show me ... and I can find a C4 trany with floor shifter at a good price.

    Thanks everyone!

I don't remember any wrecking yards in Poulsbo, but then other than driving through to Bainbridge Island to work, we mostly went to Poulsbo by boat. Good luck.:)

If you were a bit closer I'd give you a hand with it. If you have the room and the tools it really isn't a bad job. Good jackstands, a good floor jack and a buddy you can have the trans out in no time.

    Thanks for the replies.

My wife said that she wants to help out. I guess it's a good idea since she wants to learn about the car too. So we'll give it a shot. I guess the worse that can happen is that it doesn't work and then we bring it a shop to be fixed. :rofl2:

Ok ... I did do this once before when I was 17 (28 years ago). But maybe I'll get lucky and it'll all come back to me once Im under the car. I'll cross my fingers!

I'll let you all know how it comes out!

Are going to Portland for that engine or do you want one of the 250's I have? Sorry about whose bucket seats. They are getting to high of prize for them. Did you have any luck down by the airport?

I'm think I'll still go to Portland for the 200. It has the parts I need for the 200 I have in the car already. But I'm still interested in getting another motor in the future.

Thanks for the information though. I will definately call you about another motor by summer time I'm sure.
