According to the Marti report on my gold '72 GT, it is one of 3,009 with the 302/3 spd trans combo. It is one of 12,221 with the GT group. This is for 1972 only.

(y)Thanks Coutangman, that is the type of info I was looking for.

How many Comets with 3 speed manual transmission with floor shifter vs Mavericks wth 3 speed maunual transmission with floor shifter? Factory OEM. That is what I had in mind, in the original post. It seems Marti is the best scource, if you have one please post.

My Marti report shows, for 1970, - 85,001 built with a 200 and 3 speed manual.

If you could find Marti reports for a 170 and a 250 engine w/ manual, you could figure the ratio % between automatics and manuals for 1970.

A total of 578,914 Mavericks were built for the 1970 model year

I don't think you are going to find the numbers you are looking for by getting them from a Marti-Report. Reason being is the Marti Report just lists it as being 3 speed manual, it doesn't say if it was 3 on the tree or 3 in the floor.

It would just be a guess but I would bet that especially for the 1970 model year there are a lot more 3 on the tree than there were in the floor. Which doesn't make sense to me because I would guess that the 3 in the floor would be cheaper to produce.

I have a 75 Comet 4dr that is a column shift three speed. By that year sticks were rare. Especially in a 4dr. In fact, only options on car are AC, Am Radio, Tint Glass, and Interior Decor Group. They wanted a cheap one!
