Hey thanks for all the compliments, yeah would be better with a AJE front suspension so I could build a killer set of headers with less issues but for now it works. The motor is really nice with forged steel scat crank and h beam rods stock boss block and heads has a street roller cam set-up stainless valves and it's 12.5 comp ratio put down 418 to the rear wheels thru the mufflers and I can drive it anywhere and any distance with NO issues at all that's the best part !!!!!!

That is making me really want to put mine together right now. I might have to put the torino on the backburner for awhile.

This is info is more than I hoped for. Currently my car has the original 302 and a 93 T5. Just found a guy with 6 Torinos, and a slough of Clevelands.
Said I could buy the 72 351 2V for $500, once I cranked it and liked it.

Beautiful car. Very impressive install. I would love to see pictures of the underside if you have any.

    Pretty car.
I was wanting mine to have a very similar look and stance to it.

If anyone else is contemplating a 351c, I would suggest that you definately SHAVE THE TOWERS! I won't do it again in an unshaved car. It makes a world of difference.
Also, as with any SBF, the wide ratio toploader is far more user friendly... but even moreso on a 351c.

    MERRY CHRISTMAS!:bouncy:

    Nice!(y)

You shaved the entire front end!
And your bank account from the looks of it!
    Sure is nice though.

Thanks - actually the cost of this project has been spread out over so many years (to many) that it didn't "hurt" as much as it looks :)

You need to find another Maverick/Comet + a 351 C and get back to it

I still have my 75, but it has come to the point now that it is probably cheaper for me to start out with another car than one in the condition my 75 is in.

She is 'buried' in the back of my shop where I can't even get to it, and she needs so much now, especially after the roof rotted under the vinyl...

I am the type of guy that likes to work on every part of the car except body work... and she needs a ton of body work.

    Hi Guys!

It's been a while since I've been here! I've been reading here alot and still following the site. You folks are just GREAT and it's a wonderful forum.

So the car IS running (Yippee) but I have a problem. Tightened up all the steering linkage and now it won't steer to the drivers side. The linkage is buried into the Tubular Headers on that side. Seems that the passenger side will be ok...but do I really have to beat in a tube to make this work? I did not shave anything on this car as I didn't want to "cut it up" as the body was near perfect when I bought.

Any suggustions on why it's hitting the tubes? When I bought the car it was running the same tubes and worked fine but now I wonder if the previous owner beat the tubes in so they'd fit. It's been 8 years since I dismantled the car and just can't remember back if they were.

    Suggestions?

Beautiful installation of your Cleveland :thumbs2:

My set of Tubular Automotive headers also would not let me steer to one side so I called up TA and the owner seemed to already know what my problems were going to be. He mailed me a box of various mandrel bend pieces and pretty much said 'Good Luck". He also explained to me that the headers were originally designed to put a Cleveland into a 64-65 Falcon but he also sold them as fitting the Maverick/Comet because they were "that close" but not perfect. I never finished that original incarnation and instead went with the front steer rack & pinion/Mustang II front end and a set of 72 Mustang conventional type headers that also don't quite fit perfectly
