c4 prob

    why wont my c4 auto trans change manually??? trans doesnt wanna change on drive and it wont change if i drop it to 2nd manually... any ideas???

    yeah but its doing the same thing. this is driving me crazy. now i cant drive my car.

    I would ask PaulS for specifics on the trans. If the transmission won't manually budge into gear it sounds like a band problem/valve body like suggested.
    If the transmission is original then it's probably just time for a rebuild. 30+ years is alot on a transmission, and it's probably filthy on the inside.

    -not that hard at all to rebuild, i rebuilt mine not too long ago, and it was a first for me with transmissions, took me one week (taking my time)
    autozone sells a rebuild kit $70, type f fluid (10 quarts) will run you $30-40, and a haynes c4 rebuild guide is 1 penny over at amazon.

    ive changed the modulator, trans filter and new fluid. checked linkage but that seems fine
