ok yesterday i had all of the lights working except the reverse lights (no bulbs) today i got bulbs for reverse lights and put them in. they dont work. now.. the brake lights will. but only when no other lights are on. when the road lights are on the brake lights dont come on. when the road lights are off the brake lights work.. why is that?

Do the turn signals work correctly? Brake circuit goes thru the turn signal switch aswell as flashers.

Do you have a aftermarket radio? The reverse lights are fed from the radio light circuit.

Check your grounds for the tail light wiring. That's the first thing I always check when having light issues.

    Hope this helps,

It sounds like you either have a bad ground or you have the bulbs in wrong - the brake lights come on with the lights and the brake lights are lighting the tail lights. worth a check.

the bulbs cant be in wrong i didn't take them out and they were working fine before so it must be the ground.. what do you think about the reverse lights?

I'd hit all your grounds with a stiff wire brush and some cleaner then try again. For me thats always fixed 90% of light problems with these bulbs.
