i know people hate fram i know lots of company's re-sticker fram and call them there own i know you can spend a butt load on a k&n filter that people don't think are worth it, so here is my question what kind of filter do you use on an engine you want to keep and have it last for a very long time. mine is a newly built 302 roller that sees very little use. sunny day car only and i do not take it to work. i don't mind spending more on a filter, but i want it to be a great filter. what do you use?
Ten bucks is a butt load for a KNN? lol. I always buy that brand since they are in my backyard. Gotta help out local companies! Also Napa Gold/Motorcraft filters are great.
fram is $5.00 in Canada but people don't seem to like the brand. if K&N is good then $10.00 is headed there way.
Uh, hello! we own Fords, so use Ford stuff. I use Ford (Motorcraft) on all my cars. FL1A for Mav and Dodge Ram 1500 5.7 hemi.
http://cgi.ebay.com/FORD-CLEVELAND-...=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item19bfa30f01 K&N is not $10.00 for me
I use to use Fram, since they were made in Ontario. Now, I use Motorcraft FL1HP, @$20 each, for what I've got into my engine, 20 bucks a filter seems like nothing.
I always mean to have a Ford filter sent over but I'm usually rushed for time so it gets a MOPAR out of our parts dept. I just cant seem to remember to have a Ford filter on hand. Oh well it hasnt blown up yet. Funny all the people that have looked under the hood and nobody has ever mentioned the Mopar filter to me. I guess its not that obvious.
Mopar-Motorcraft. I doubt any is better than the other. Both are standard issue for one of the big 3 motor builders. I use the FL1A motorcraft on my ford (and dodge). It fits, and is a half quart larger than the stock filter.
