Now that im driving the car around there is a loud rattle comming from the back of the car. it only happens on rough roads and, when i hit around 40 mph it pretty much stops it sounds like its inside the car. i know theres probly a ton of possibilities but is there any common ones to look for?
If you don't find something obvious, have someone ride along. They can zero in on the noise while you drive. better yet, have them ride in the trunk
Take a close look at the upper plate where the rear shock mounts. They can crack and it will certainly cause a noise when the shock moves. This would be especially true if the car has been ran with air shocks for a prolonged time.
It doesn't weld very good. I think the plate is galvanized. If it's cracked you will need to grind off the galvanization before welding. The next time I find one like that I do believe I'll add more metal and thicken it up before I weld it for extra strength.
well it was the rear driver side shock that was a little lose and now all i can hear is the motor thanks for all of your help
