I'm converting my auto column shift steering column and wondered if the long tube that goes through the column to operate the linkage is also in floor shift cars? I haven't tried to reassemble the column without it yet, but I wondered if anyone knew if it is in all the columns. The engine compartment end of it has a flange with a hole in it for the linkage. The other end has the keyway for the column shifter.

    Thanks

Yes...floor shift cars have this tube....so when you put the car in PARK....it locks the column and you can get your key out.
