    a pretty straight forward mod...

    1st...drilled a hole in the...lower corner...of tank...

2nd..welded in an...O2 sensor bung w/oil pan plug.

    ...:yup:...

    Looks good !
I'm 98.3 % sure I'm building another Pinto. One of the things I have planned is a new built tank & a drain plug.

Maybe the plug is there to drain the gas to replace the pump if it ever goes bad. The factories ought to do that on all vehicles with in-tank pumps. My Suburban has a 35 gallon tank. We had to change the pump when it the tank was full. Draining beats siphoning everyday.

...don't store it or race it...

when i set my...Dakota Digital fuel gauge...I removed the sender 3-4 times. I wanted it at...00 %.. to have 2 gal. in the tank...:thumbs2: at that time i had no drain plug.
i dropped that tank and installed one.
I will have one in all my tanks from now on...:yup:

...on my Honda truck, there's a plate under the back seat you remove to get to the...fuel pump...

How did you go about prepping the tank to weld on?
If it were me, I'd drain it, wash it out with dishsoap and water and purge it with argon or helium, but if you used a different method I'm all eyeballs.

Here's how I welded on mine. Dump all the fuel possible, install all senders. plugs, etc, then add a gallon of methanol and slosh the h$ll out of it. Methanol will hold the remaining gasoline in suspension. Then dump the meth (save it!) and add a few gallons of water with some "purple-power" cleaner and slosh it again. Remove all senders, plug, etc and let it air-dry for a few hours (or put an air hose in it and blow it for a bit), then give it the "sniff" test. If you cannot detect any gasoline fumes, light a propane torch, stand back and wave it over one of the larger openings. Obviously, if you still smell fumes, repeat until you don't.

After welding, rinse out the tank with soapy water (do your leak checking here), then clear water, then the saved meth (will also hold water in suspension), then air or blow dry, then install and fill...

    fuel pump sender

i would love to get more information on your fuel pump and sender there.
i need to do an efi pump in my comet, and that would work great.
    which pump did u use?
does the sender work with the oem gauge?
where did u get the donor ring for the pump?
