Just kidding. But get your hands on a nice Mustang II wheel and an NOS Door panel insert and you can make one of these. Ford should have done this in the first place!

    What year Mustang IIl?

I remember some Mustang II horns worked by pushing the turn signel stalk in. One of Ford's better ideas (not).

Charlie Ping has a wheel just like that in his car.

Not sure what year it came out of. This was the optional sport wheel. Also available on Bronco's and Sport Granada's ...

I pulled a wheel off a early '80s Mustang that is an exact copy. I want to say it was an '84 GL or GLX, whichever is the right trim designation. The horn was on the stalk as previously mentioned.

Then again it might have come from a Mustang II originally.

On this steering wheel - the horn is the center logo ....

I guess I can take credit for that idea ;) Unless someone can dispute it, I've had it for a couple years now and the pictures have been around.

The wheels were on a lot of cars, but the Mustang II wheel fits the Maverick column better than the Granada and others. Some had the horn on the stalk, others it was in the center. I think all the Mustang II's had it in the center. You can interchange the center sections easily.

Never seen the picture of your wheel. I used to have one of these wheels in my 73 but left the mustang emblem. I used to have a 4-speed car years ago and bought the Hurst universal shift knob with the interchangeable inserts. I put a Maverick logo in there instead.

The turn-signal cam will not cancel with those steering wheels...Kinda frustrating having to cancel them manually every time...

Hmmm - I used to have this same wheel on my 1973 Maverick and don't remember the turn signal issue ...

Yes, it will cancel the turn signals if you use a Mustang II steering wheel. I previously had a similar wheel from another car (Swap Meet Special). It had no horn (so the horn must have been on the stalk) but the same center section fit. The turn signals didn't cancel with that wheel, but I swapped to a Mustang II wheel (1977) and the horn plugged up and the turn signals cancelled again :)

Well if that's the case, I want one. The wheel I had came from an early '80s Mustang (not Mustang-II) and looked exactly like that one in the photo. I guess the Mustang-II wheel must be a little different. I thought it looked great (and "original") but got rid of it when the turn signal's wouldn't cancel AND the steering wheel lock wouldn't work with it either...
