Any Maverick owners in Colorado? I'm asking this because I need to take my Maverick in to be repainted. My sister owned my Maverick prior to me and when a guy hit her on the side she took it in to a place called Rocky Mountain paint and body here in Longmont, Colorado. They had to repaint the side of the car and they did a HORRIBLE job. They ended up fixing it like crap, the paint and the door. Anyways, just wanted to see if anyone could recommend any places here in Colorado. Also just curious if there are any coloradans in here. Thanks!
Hey! 1 coloradan here. I am from the south end of the springs, but am going to school up in Golden. There is a body shop down in the springs, I believe it is Majestic Paint & Body or Majestic Auto Body. My dad will be taking his truck there to get painted and that is probably where I will take my car. Hope this helps. -Jason
I'm in Colorado also. It's still going to be awhile before I can get mine painted, but I'd never go to one of those national chain body-shops. I know a guy who owns a custom body/paint shop which is where mine will be painted, but he's booked a bout a year in advance. Should give me time to save up the money...
where are you getting yours done? Have any of you heard of Midwest Auto Body? I dont think they are a national chain... heck, i dont know anything about paint/body shops. There are a couple places here in town that do custom paint jobs and also "specialize" in classics. As of now though I'm stumped as far as where I'll take it. I think im really picky after seeing the crap job Rocky Mtn Paint & body did. I mean its HORRIBLE.
Well I currently live in Fort Collins but used to live in Sterling, if you want to drive that far Jason's Restoration in Sterling does great work!
About how much does a good, quality paint job cost? Wish I could find a Longmont/Boulder person around here. I'd like to take it somewhere in town, but I might go somewhere else if it means getting a DECENT paint job, lol. Don't know how good these places here are.
Let's put it this way; the materials alone will cost me $500. I am supposed to be getting a $3,000 paint-job for about $1800 (base-coat/clear-coat). Keep in mind that this includes all of the body work. The prep-work is the expensive part, as well as the wet-sand and final buffing. Simply spraying a car is not very expensive at all. Cheap paint jobs do not involve removal of trim pieces--they just mask it off, which is a half-assed way of doing it...
