Hi guys, i need to know , my maverick have caltrac rear complete kit include split mono leafs, and be run a 363 boss stroker 4 speeds and 4.30 or 4.56 in back . want to orders the rear shock but any of you install different from factory location or not,,, it is better to put back of the housing or strager or ??? thanks if you have pict i appreciate
Good question, I installed some Cal's last week "I was bending the slappers" and need new shocks so I'll be following this thread.
this is only my opinion based on limited experience and lots of reading. not factoring in caltrax and leafs, the factorys when to staggerd shocks to control the natural torquing action of the rear end under acceleration. so with that in mind i would figure the shocks would be more effective in the stock location than both on the rear. now i know that the caltraxs are very effective in controling the rear end and probly negate any of that effect that the shocks had on the torquing of the rear. the last thing i would consider is if you do any racing in a class that requires stock type suspension then you wouldnt be leagle with the shocks moved to the rear.
I'm selling my Rancho's that I got from Calvert Racing. See link below for info: http://mmb.maverick.to/showthread.php?p=764579#post764579
