I made the same panels, but have a question for you. Did you use some sort of spacer under the arm rest, and if so, what material did you use? Also, did you clear coat the aluminum? Thanks

I just used the black plastic trim piece that came on my car as the spacer and no i did not clear coat the aluminum although thats a great idea.

I made panels out of tempered hardboard from Lowes, then covered them with black velour to match my seats.

Does any one in the US restore the orignal door panels. I have the rest of the interior restored on our 71 grabber, the crome is pealing and some one cut speaker holes in them.

If holes are cut in them, probably best to find another set of door panels to work with. I think "Just Dashes" can restore them...but I doubt they can fix speaker holes. Plus, they are not cheap.

You can get new chrome foil at any hobby shop and fix the chrome foil yourself.

This guy once quoted me $595 for a set.. He had some for a Cyclone that he made all new. They looked amazing so I asked him if he could do panels for our year make and models and he said yes. I kept the info just incase I ever had lots and lots of money lol.
